I prefer 255/85x16 tyres, they stand almost as tall as a 35" tyre. I have mine on a 16x7 wheel that has the same backspacing as the County/Defender wheel. You could also use steel Disco wheels. I have found this size has more "bite" than the wider tyres as they have more contact pressure. You can get this size in BF Goodrich Mud Terrain, Maxxis Buck Shot and Cooper ST (yuk) . I havent found any other brand yet.
    Cheers, Dave

I have a 4BD1T plenty of torque, I can idle away in 2nd gear. It all depends on how hard you drive it. I drive it like a series! Too scared to give it all the loud pedal until I'm in top gear.

Actually, I believe they are around 33.3 inches tall.

The disco rims may not have enough offset to run a 255 (my 235/85's just rub on the rear spring perch, but that's a county. A defender has slightly more clearance) and definitely not enough for a 12.5 or 13.5 wide tyre. Disco rims are +33 offset. I'm using zero offset rims for 255/85-16s and I believe the guys running the big wide tyres use -25 or more offset rims.
