    LT95 clutch pivot repair

Whats the best way to repair a worn LT95 clutch pivot hole?
I was hoping that mine wouldn't be very worn and I could just retain it with some decent retaining compound, but I think its past that.

I've read of sleeving the hole and then drilling/tapping the end of the pivot and securing with a bolt, but I've also been told that the pivot itself isn't easy to drill...
If I'm going to the trouble of sleeving the hole, is there any advantage in extending the sleeve out the front of the hole a bit to help support the pivot rod.
Seems to me that the very short inserted length is just asking to wear out the hole.

Steve, there is a couple of ways you can fix this. You are talking about the hole in the bell housing that the pivot fits into aren't you. First way is to drill a hole sideways through the hole and pivot and loctite it in and secure with a rollpin. Other way is to weld a bolt shank (no head)of similar size to the end of the pivot and then drill the hole in the bellhousing right through and secure with a nyloc locknut. If you have access to a small metal lathe you can make up a new pivot with extension and thread on the end. Both ways will stop this happening again but I like the second way.

Thanks Brian. Welding a bolt shank on sounds like a good way to go.
