    Floppy gear lever syndrome

A couple of weeks ago my gear lever went floppy (02 Td5 defender).

I pulled the top cover off and *phew* it's just the grub screw holding the lever to the selector shaft.

Question is - the top cover (not sure what it's called) seemed to have a small amount of sealer on it, though no gasket. Do I need to put gasket goo or similar on for re-assembly?

    G'day Andrew,

yeah pretty good thanks, seem to have been very busy what with one thing or another and haven't had much time to explore the back blocks in the Landy, skiing is a big temptation at the moment and I'm making the most of the good snow (or was anyway).

Work is busy too so I don't get as much time to spend on here

Yeah I did see your new acquisition, you're building up a bit of a stable! I do miss the trips with you guys.

    Cheers Tony
