    For the record, my Disco TD5 Manual now has a larger intercooler, silicon hoses, EGR by-pass, medium chip/re-map, 3" exhaust, TD5Alive boost box running 18 psi boost, this is better than the BD chip but not by much, although I haven't run the car set up like this with the BD chip & MSB ECU, only with the NNN ECU and re-map.

    I really need a bit more torque and power, it still struggles a bit on hills with the camper on.

    BD chips are known for there lack of down low to start with.

    Im running a VNT and well over 25psi of boost so more air flow is needed.

    I have tombie's big map which is fantastic.... But now i running a vnt I'm about to load a BAS vnt map.

    I did not have and of the problems you are talking about whilst running the stock turbo and airbox mod. Maybe the map i'm running covered this up?

    i have not yet cut my air box i am waiting for the 2 channel adjustable box which alows me to adjust airflow parameter and boost if this does not work the cut wil begin i also am running the VNT and yes it is a by far superior turbo but needs alot of fine tunning to get it to work to full capacity i think we have finaly completed the VNT stage 2 remap which the car is running well beside at full boost stutters due to maf parameters boost box over capacity but with the new adjustable one i am 100% certain it going to be awesome once its installed VNT stage 3 remap will be alot easier to achieve full capacity so hurry up UK post and arrive ,will keep you informed once the 2 channel adjustable box is installed

    Have you adjusted the boost on your vnt yet kelvin?

    What have your maf readings been?

    MAF has been blowing off the parameter the650 then skips to 00000 this only happens on massive pedal flatting mainly sits around 450-600

    the VNT i have slightly adjusted down as even with a boost box it was overboosting

    i am very confident that i will be able to bring the turbo back up and even more with the IRB 2 channel adjustable box

    you said you running 25psi are you running your rubber hose coming from you actuator to the steel intercooler pipe or to the wastegate modulator

    Knowone has been able to do a big map for a manual Disco as yet (that will work in my Disco) I've got an NNN re-mapable ECU, I've tried a few of these big maps and so far knowone has come close to the B Davis big map I had in my MSB early ECU.

    Anyone out there with a big map in a manual Disco???

    I believe Kelvin (disco thrasher) who is the rep for Td5 inside, can do big maps for discos and offers a great price to aulro members

    Of those who run VNT's, particularly those with auto's, how would you describe the characteristics of your engine now?

    Mine, seems to do nothing from standing start, except produce thick black smoke, until about 2800rpm....and then goes. Getting from idle to 2800rpm takes a LONG time, like serious turbo lag, which is the exact opposite of my expectation of the vnt.
