Thanks Rick, looks like im doing 2500km oil changes

In all honesty I wouldn't waste my money on a semi-syn doing short OCI's. (and I'm using a Penrite syn ATM in two vehicles)
Grab a good heavy diesel oil like Mobil Delvac MX, Caltex Delo 400 (not the LE), Fuchs Titan Ultralube or Castrol RX-Super in a CI-4 or CI-4+ flavour, something with a really high TBN to combat acid and change at, say, 4-5000km/six monthly intervals.
All those oils have higher levels of additives to combat wear, better detergency/dispersancy, etc than oils like GTX Diesel, Delo Silver, etc.

and just take the car for a nice long flogging on the weekends, just to show your love

Toyota arent the best Rick , a comparison to Stihl in the 4wd world would be Land Rover

In the end I went for the Delo 400, was going to get Delo Silver but the Caltex peeps said for the shorter runs the 400 would be a better choice, as you say.

The loss of oil over time isnt helped by the sieve that I have been using as my brake vacuum advance pump thats next on the list.
