If it is a Defender, check for easy to see cracks around master cylinder mountings on booster, and the vac pump should suck at least 15 to 18 in/hg at idle speed.

Hi All,
I have a 300tdi and need to check the brake booster, there is vacuum when you pull the hose out and the motor going so I think my trouble is with the booster,,
How do you check the booster?
thanks in advance

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
if youve already confirmed vac is available at the front of the booster pump the brakes several times slowly with the engine off to get rid of any vacuum then pump them quickly and hold the pedal down, start the engine the pedal should sink fairly smartly about 3-5 inches. IF it doesnt the vac booster is leaking.
