$10 or so will get you the brass plug from a LR spares shop.
I am trying to source a blank to replace this in my radiator (D1 300tdi) Does anyone know what size/thread these are so I can try to source a blank to tap?

IIRC it's 1/2" BSP, so a brass plug from the plumbing supplies fit, just go easy when using a taper plug as I'm pretty sure the threads are parallel. (it's all I used, with a few wraps of thread tape)
We get all our truck air line fittings(bsp brass fittings) from, believe it or not, Repco--![]()

Thanks everyone for your help... as someone who has no real knowledge of these differences in threads... can someone please xplain the difference between the tapered and parellel
easy...
draw a square. the sides that go up and down are parallel to each other.
draw an isosceles triangle with the point uppermost and the odd side at the bottom. rule off the top 1/3. the sides on the new shape are tapered.
now imagine your 2 shapes as a side profile of a cylindrical shape and add a thread.
