Pulling brakes with EBC pads RRC

I bought some EBC pads from a reliable vendor , who posts on this forum.
They are not coloured but the basic "black" variety.

Recently, I had a problem with the car pulling left on light braking. The pad shave only done about 5K.

I pulled the wheels off with visions of a leaking caliper and mucho money.

When I pulled the pads out it was evident that the anti squeal plastic backing had failed and it had packed up on one end of the RH outer pad.
Some of the problem was that the material had "scrunched up" as I installed the pad, my fault, as I pushed it in hard. But also the glue should be strong enough.
However what is also evident is that the anti squeal material is too soft and has been cut right through on both sides ( funnily outer pads only), enabling the middle of the material to float around and potentially move to the other end of the pad.
I tow an unbraked 600KG or so camper so maybe I press harder , but not a great ad for EBC IMHO>
    Regards Philip A

I fitted EBC pads and dics's to my disco 1 and I cooked the pads in real well, four stops at max braking force from 100 to zero and they smoked like hell but after cooling them down they were spot on and a big improvement over stock brakes. Pat

Have never used EBC pads, but can thoroughly recommend Mintex pads and from Paddocks they are very cheap if combined with other bits in a shipment.

I also run Mintex pads and have nothing bad to say about them. My experiences with EBC on mountainbikes ensure I'm never putting them on anything I own again.
