    Defender Passanger door lock mechanism Jammed

    .....In my 95 130.
    Pulled the skin off, nothing I (or my smarter mate) can seem to do to unlock it.
    Even tried to unscrew what 'seems' to be the pin that the latch pivots on. Its a flathead, and it shagged immediately (half the head cracked off)
    So...i have a door I cant even open to get a good look at, or unbolt the striker.
    Any suggestions how to at least get it open so I can attack it and remove it?

    Have you tried undoing the hinges and see if you can move the door to get the latch to undo?

    Leaving that as a last resort....The catch won't budge trying to lever it, so I reckon if won't release when the door is of.....

    Mine is a county (so a different lock) but I just have to move a lever and it clicks.

    Can you follow the leaver from the door button down the latch mechanism?

    Yes, but its jammed somewhere in the mechinism right at the striker
