Any time I've ever done a 200TDi timing belt, I've replaced the tensioner at the same time. It's not expensive and while you're there.....
G'day folks,
I don't have time to post here frequantly, so forgive me for waiting till I have questions
I've got a rare 5 day weekend coming up and the timing belt in rover needs doing. Planning on getting the radiator rodded and cleaning the intercooler while I'm at it. Any advice on other things I should be replacing while I'm down there with the water pump, alternator, radiator, fan, air con etc off?
Just getting a shopping list together so I don't find I'm missing something as I can't afford to have her off the road longer than required.
Belts
Hoses
T-belt cover gasket
Crankshaft dust seal
Cooling pump gasket
Alternator brushes
Anything I have missed that is worth looking at?

Some how I don't think the Haynes manual is entirely correct...
Anyway, after 3 seized bolts and three stripped heads, the action starts.
Hello Friends
I whrite from Greece and i need some informations about the timing belt.
I have a tdi200 and i want a new timing belt.
Do you believe the after market will be ok,or better to use the original one ?
Thank you for the help.
Christos
Any reputable supplier will be fine. As per anything Landrover though, you pretty much end up with an OEM supplied one or very similar anyway - as it's not an off the shelf part a lot of the time especially over this way.
