    Disco dash into RRC

I have an 82 2 door range rover and hate the lt95 box so was looking at getting a wrecked Disco 1 to take the gear box and transfer case out of to donate to the RRC. In doing so need to rework the floor pan a little for gear levers being in different spots and to accomodate the new partk brake lever. While it is in pieces and I have the bits, might as well transfer the 3.9 and heck why not the dash and centre console as well.

Does anyone know how hard it would be to transfer the dash and all the heating cooling controls etc from a D1 and place them into the rrc?

Someone over this way i think has done this with the dash. I remember sitting at a set of lights in Malaga on Alexander Dve a year or so ago on my way he from work (this is purely for the benefit that they see this post and reply ) and an older classic pulled up behind me. Could see the dash was definitely different.

    Cheers

The RRC 95 on soft dash had a similar dash to a disco

BUT I recall a post quite a long time ago that there are some extra brackets welded to the Disco firewall and it ain't easy.

It wasnt a softdash. The dash height all the way across was visible. Softdash sits the same as earlier but it just a different style and the cluster and binnacle are different.

    Hi Tim,

No I didn't complete the project. I took the easy route and got rid of the RR.

    Tony,
Here's a link to a bloke who did a RRC94 soft dash implant in an 89.
    Good pics

It can and has been done here in vic , RRute (formerly mickrangie) converted his 93 rrc ute into a D1 and fitted the entire D1 dash and interior into his rrc cab shell. Lots of spot welds to be drilled out so the brackets could be swapped into the rangie but its doable.
