Getting used to my first Landy
So the second day of commuting to work in the newly registered series 3 109". Never having owned a LR before or even driven in one, takes a bit of getting used to, all the noises and rattles etc.
When I'm powering along I seem to notice a steady whine from the gearing somewhere, starts out like a woo-woo-woo as you move off from a start and at 60-70km/h it is like a constant whine, but if you put the clutch in and just coast it goes away, it is also less noticeable when coasting clutch out on overun down a hill. It isn't an engine noise, definitely a gear/transfer box or some drivetrain issue, it may even be the way these cars are, I would expect them to be a bit noisy (probably why they don't have radios fitted!)
It has the 186 conversion if this points to anything different. I guess I'm still getting to know the car, a few more 40km commutes and we should be more comfortable with each other.

It's singing a happy tune...when you look at the transfer box your drive always goes through a gear train. Just make sure you keep the oil level up cos they usually leak a bit.
