Does anyone know the quality and availablity of generic valves (Repco etc)? Do or should I go genuine?

I imported mine from the UK for my D1 V8, though exhaust valves seemed to be in fairly short supply - I ended up with some from a D2 (identical, though some recommend replacing or reaming the guides)
I paid between 4 and 6 pounds each, and couldn't fault the fit and finish of them. Can't remember what brand they were I'm afraid.
Ian, get on the internet and look for the USA after-market and performance parts people. You will find valves of the correct dimensions there at very good prices. Measure head and stem diameter and length.
