Oil Leak from Auto bellhousing - help

Ok we have a ZF auto from a donor car (200k on clock) on a 3.5 rangie motor. Done about 7-10,000 km since install. We have had no issues with running and operation until recently when we had some auto cooler temperature spikes (we have an inline temp sender for the auto cooler). Still works fine oil temp goes up to 130 on flat highway sometimes then drops.

It seems to be leaking ATF auto oil from the bellhousing.

What are the possible issues and how serious and how costly to fix?

    All help appreciated.

Well if it's the same as mine the oil leak will be at the Torque converter seal or the oil pump gasket.
Mine was found with the trans out to do a rear main seal , so it only cost $100 or so to fix, but it is a trans out job.
If you have it fixed, do the rear main seal at the same time, as if it is a V8 , it is leaking too.

Might monitor the leak and sit on taking the auto out for a little while

If take it out then would do all the seals etc possible.
