Thread: help! td5 running on 4

Help I am in Albury and my TD5 has decided to run on 4 cylinders. I beliave this to be a problem with the wires to the injector solenoid. Can anyone help as I have to return to Young tommorrow.

Unplug the ECU and check for oil and check the plug at the front (left hand side when looking into the engine bay) coming underneath the rocker cover housing. Clean with contact cleaner if there is oil. This will be the most likely culprit.
This will take you 5 minutes to check and do yourself.
Do it with the ignition off.
It is extremely unlikely for the plug to come off an injector. I assume from your comment that the cover has been off and the loom inspected or was it changed? It is possible for the plug under the rocker housing to not be all the way home.
