Mine has it. Engine loom replaced. But it is at the computer. No issues yet
I'm sure that there wil be lots of groans at the title, but this is a quick question and I cannot find the info in any of the (many) previous threads.
Are ALL Td5s going to have this problem? or were later models fitted with slightly different parts that do/don't have the same problem?

Just realised I posted this in the wrong forum - apologies!
Bonti1,
I have a 2003 TD5 which had the same issues from 70K. I replaced the injector loom with new and the engine loom with an oil free second hand. Now have 140k and no trouble yet. I believe the problem commences in the injector loom which draws oil along the electrical wires by capilliary action and hence the oil is drawn into the engine loom and eventually into the ECU. If you change the injector loom for a new part, which are apparently better sealed, the problem should not recurr. However as is logical, if you already have oil in the engine loop and ECO the symptoms will persist until you replace the loom and clean the ECU. i cleaned my ECO terminals with CRC and have had not trouble.
Good luck.
PS If you follow the instructions in the workshop manual the engine loom is quite easy, all the connectors are spring loaded or pull apart.

Does NOT get into the ECU. It pools in the connector and causes electrical disturbance.
The injector harness usually needs replacing and is not expensive. The main loom can be flushed with plastic non destructive contact cleaner or metho through too the connector at the ECU.
I have replaced mine and IMHO the new one does not appear any different. Seems to occur around the 100,000km mark.
There are plenty of posts archived on this subject and solutions here somewhere, though the search function can be a little hit and miss at times.
