Yes I have read all the posts,even the ones that stated that the part numbers on the boxes were supposed to be the same.But when other people actually checked,it was all just propaganda.People that have some allegiance to certain brands or companies like to spread little bits of information,and before long every man and his dog has heard it.The 2 mentioned don't even look similar when compared side by side.

I have been quoted a Terrafirma kit, medium ride, coils and shocks for $800 AUD. What is your opinion of the Terrafirma coils? Rates are as follows ...

Front = 230lbs - 380mm
Rear = 300lbs - 435mm

Problem I have with some kits is that in my case I need the reverse ... I need the heavy rate in the front for the engine and I am very light in the back with a ally tray that stays empty 90% of the time. I guess I could swap them about ... my head is spinning with all the conflicting data I am reading on different brands of shocks and springs ... Koni vs Bilstein vs Sus Stuff vs etc etc ... Kings vs Dobinsons vs ... everybody has their pet fave and then people report totally conflicting results! I am mental mush ...

The problem that I find with kits especially ones that are only listed as soft medium and firm,is that there is no set value for what makes firm,soft or medium.What is medium to one manufacturer is quite often firm to another.That is why it is always good to try and find the actual manufacturers spring rates and then you are able to compare.

Having said that,all the reports that I have read regarding the Terrafirma springs seem to indicate that they seem softer than supposedly equivalent OME springs and give a very nice ride.Whether to believe all that,I don't know.

I also know how you feel regarding the variety of products out there and just what you will purchase.I spent months and months just researching different products before I went down the road that I did.But I had a bit of background knowledge to fall back on,as I have owned 3 Rangies and 7 Landies previously.

I'm no expert, but 300lbs seems pretty firm for a tray back. Many lift's are standard length and coil number springs with a higher rate to increase height. With a trayback, this could cause a bumpy ride.

If you found the rates to be wrong, would they allow you to change them over?

I think the stock 110 springs on a tray back are about 330lbs. I run kings approx +2 inch lift @ 250lb.... alloy tray and I tow a 1.8t trailer daily. I PERSONALY would not go higher than this rate on a 110 alloy tray back. I run 210lb fronts. This is a 300tdi which has the motor 8 inches forward of the 200tdi postion, steel tube bar and hyd MM winch.
