D4 2.7 sticky throtle or normal behaviour

Hi, Just picked up a 2.7 D4 last week and I have noticed that under gentle acceleration say 2000 RPM when I lift my foot the engine seems to continues at a higher Revs than I would expect say 1900RPM then over the next 2-3 seconds it drops slowly to 1100RPM.

Is this normal for a TD or do I have a problem with throttle?

 Thanks

 Jason

All though I haven't driven one it sounds similar to the new hilux, when your changing gears it seems to run on unlike a mechanically injected engine where the revs drop quickly.

					Hi Guys,

every electronically driven throttle (tojo, holden) that I've driven behaves somewhat the same.

Feels weird to start with but you get used to it eventually.

after you get used to it, just look forward to stalling the next "normal" car you drive 3 or 4 times before....

 Cheers,

 Chris

D2 definitely doesn't do it,but my petrol hiace does it & it is a PITA.Wears the brakes out, performs like an auto. After a good while it does eventually slow down, that is drops the throttle off completely.

Toyota use the excuse it is new emmision regs, something about fuel burn.It does it whether on LPG or fuel.

If you get off the throttle after hard acceleration,it does run on longer than if you were on light throttle ,so they may be correct.

Puma doesn't seem to do it.
