    Thrust washers in detroit install?

    Hi all,

    cant find the answer for this one,

    I'm installing a detroit no spin in the salsbury rear, the instruction booklet states to remove all thrust washers, the tag on the new center states install all thrust washers,
    would appreciate someones experience on this one

    I have always left the thrust washers under the side gears, BUT I have seen one recently without them fitted, with no adverse effects. Obviously the pinion thrusts should be left out.

    I removed them all in Vern's.....but it'll be a while till we see how that one goes

    I agree the instructions are not as clear as they should be - I removed mine and all is OK - so far
