2003 TD6 range rover engine lacking power
Hi guys
I am need some help for some engine problems I am having with my 2003 TD6 Range Rover. The symptoms are: lacking power, high idle only goes to 3000 rpm. Previous problem which I thought I had solved was intermitent staring problem - symptoms were - engine cranking over fine, failed to start - pretty sure I solved that problem by replacing the secondary fuel pump rely in the fuse and relay panel in the rear of the car. The reason I say this is that I could recreate the problem by putting the old relay back in and recreating the non starting symptoms, putting the new relay in and the problem went. Not sure if the two problems are related but as I said - lacking power. I downloaded the rave manuel but for some reason there is no system operation and description of the TD6 fuel system.

Have you checked the condition of the air hoses to and from the intercooler/turbo, may be collapsing or have a split, start it up and run your hands around pipe surfaces (all over), Regards Frank.

Thanks all for the help, my young fella set me up on this forum and made the last reply as typing is not strong points (lucky this has spell check).
I have since payed to download some info from the Topix web site (19.50.13 Fuel system - pressure test ) as the RAVE info that I downloaded didn't cover/include this info the test basically says fit a pressure gauge inline at the outlet of the fuel filter turn the ignition key to position II if the gauge dose not read 3.5 Bar replace the secondary transfer pump. The best that mine could do after a struggle was 1.5 bar so looks like I will have to fork out for a new secondary fuel pump $700 I think I will pull the old one apart first .
Thanks again
