anyone fitted Td5 Alive intercooler to an early model D2 with oil cooler in front?

Hi - I assume the Td5 intercooler for manuals is mainly longer rather than deeper, so does it fit even with Aussie spec oil cooler in front of standard IC, or will I need to get the smaller auto intercooler? Looks like it would be too difficult to move the oil cooler if that's what would be required.
Always looking for creative new ways to get bogged... :whistling:

yeah i ran into this first hand not very long ago what i did was removed the IC and then unbolted the oil cooler and ensured all the oil cooler lines where not getting snagged and then inserted the td5alive IC sliced a piece of timber the same size as oil cooler about 30 thick and then slide it under the oil cooler so it did not rub on the ac steel pipes down.... this was a temp fix as it was a fri night i did this and still needed my car that weekend monday i then took a trip to enzed hoses got hoses made up and removed oil cooler and placed it infront of the ac condensor ,if i knew there was going to be a propblem would have done this first up
    cheers Kelvin

thanks Kelvin - I just tracked down your original thread about this and saw that you initially dropped the oil cooler further down with new brackets - so presumably there's enough give in the standard lines for this, but it caused problems - hence the need for the new hoses? Any problems since and how much did the Enzed hoses cost?

    cheers

yeah there is enough original hose to do it ,and would proberly had lasted a long time like that but just felt i had to change it ,in the week it was on no problems occured it all sat well ,i supose i was concerned about corrugations wearing thru the wood then the steel pipes and oil cooler will wear thru making it leak and stuffing the R380

hoses where about 50 as it was just extensions used

I've always wondered how the Disco manages to keep everything cool with three rows of cooling units. I realise the rad has fan to such air through, but, particularly if the aircon condensor has bent fins, it must be a struggle...and removing the plastic covers from beneath/sides of cooling units will just allow mud etc in.

The Td5 Alive intercooler for manual Discos is huge (4x size of original unit) which is great for potential performance, but I wonder if such a large intercooler (it's deeper and longer) compromises rad cooling by restricted airflow through the rad even further (acknowledging that there will be some trade-off through cooler air going into the motor)?

Finally, if I've already got a TRS-upgraded non-flashable chip, can I just connect up the larger intercooler and a turbo boost unit and everything will be sweet, or is retuning recommended?

    thanks
