    removing Tdi300 Diesel Pump

I am dismantling a Tdi300 Disco, and are up to removing the Diesel pump for relocation to another motor. The pump was recently reconditioned and would form a good replacement for a worn unit on another vehicle.
(The motor it is coming off broke #1 con rod, and put this through the side of the block, and opened up the sump like a can opener.) I can turn the motor over, via spanner on crank pully.

I had planned to find TDC, etc as per timing belt change, and clamp the pump prior to removal.
Is this all I need to do?

    yep but no.

the pump has timing marks on it. so long as both sets of the timing case markings are the same you dont need to clamp it just line up the marks and pull it out.
