    Hi
I need to replace the lower control arms to my D3
rather than replacing the lower ball joint I have purchased L & R Lower control arms. are there any tricks or anything I should worry about undertaking this swap-out.

    Thanks

Its not the arms that need replacing , its the bushes and balljoints .These days you get service exchange arms with the bushes properly fitted .Believe me, dont attempt to do the bushes even with the $1000 pressing tool kit .Ask any LR dealer how much trouble those bushed are even with the right gear . Squeaks , groans, constant alignment issues (many wheel alignments and suspension height calibrations later !!)etc etc .

AMV replaced my lower conrol arms. Mentioned the bushes can be changed but time and risk of damaging the realtively light steelin the control arms made me choose to replace both arms. ( not mine )

I changed tyres a few month later and just had the wheel alignment done yesterday after the new tyres. The gent mentioned the toe-in was upto 30 degrees off

My new tyres would not have lasted long at that margin off line. I do a bit of reasonably tough off road driving so I assume I will need to check the alignment a bit more often.

How often do you check yours???
