The preload differs between the front and rear Truetracs,
the rears are set a bit stiffer, in the front it will want to straighten up quicker like you have more caster,

Looking at locker for the front of my project and was/am keen on a tru trac, problem is my project will be getting a front salsibury conversion and apparently the tru trac is only for the rear of the sals. Can some one tell me what it is they do to the rover (banjo) tru tracs to make them for the front and rear, from what i understand the gears are swapped around or something.
Anyone?

would love to know the answer to this question also. From what I have seen, it may be as simple as pulling it apart and swapping of the gear sets so left is right right is left.
It's ok now for some reason thanks Ben, after I went offline and just came back.
I wanted to ask Vern what type of CV joints and tyres he was intending to use on his Sals front? I built and used a front Sals for my 2a years back.even when shaved the lack of ground clearance on 35'' tyres was more noticable on the front than the back. Even a built 24 spline Rover diff will eat standard AEU2522 CVs.To adequately exploit the potential of a Sals front would require either Ashcroft replacements or graft the swivel ball/CV assemblies from either a FC101 or 80 series LandCruiser.
