D2 SLS PUMP & ACTUATOR VALVES

If anyone has one handy, is there any Wabco numbers on the unit, in particular the solenoid valves and are the valves serviceable???

As I deal direct with Wabco, want to see if parts or an assembly are available thru them.

One other on here in the D2 section has just diagnosed a control problem rather than bags and mines suspiciously the same after leak testing the bags and coming up with zip.

Wabco being pretty good with their tech info may also have a breakdown of it on file if someone can kindly get me some actual Wabco numbers.

    Cheers

    Andrew

not serviceable items...not replaceable items separately. This from WABCO.

You can pull the solenoiods apart and source some o-rings locally but the plunger and seals are not available. I went throught Goyen, Parker, SMC to see if there was a similar kit, but no joy.

I ended up just getting a new unit from Paddocks UK.

These are very rare to fail unless completely drowned and seized and have yet to hear of these being the conclusive fault with SLS issues.

I was certain these were my problem until I raised the truck right up and loaded it up, to find a leak at the top of the bags inside where it was hard to see. It took 15 minutes for it to show up.
Useless US made bags were the culprit.

    cheers

Did you give WABCO the number on the solenoids??
I'm going to try running the number thru the MB cross reference system and see if it shows up as being part of any Benz passenger vehicles.
Funny thing with mine is if I set it to raised height and park it, it stays up indefinitely but intermittently at STD height will drop.
Lines are another thing I need to check plus the Voss connectors. These may be easy as Mercedes Benz use them on all the truck air connections but need to see what model connector these ones are. MB are a Voss 230 now being changed to a 232.
Mix this with the EAS in the Rangie and I'm gonna be an air spring guru by the time I'm finished!!

seriously though, it is just a siamesed pair of airvalves. wouldn't take too much to make a replacement using some control valves and fittings. might not look as neat, but theres a reasonable amount of room down there to mount it up out of sight.
even if the connectors are different, the quick fit push connectors would work as well and easy for servicing anyhow.

Yes it wouldnt take much. If you had these sorts of things lying around. This was another path I was considering at the time. By the time I bought fittings, valves and some extra line etc I was better off getting the whole new compressor and valves. $540 AUD delivered from recollection for genuine WABCO and the $ was down on the pound compared to now.

    cheers
