Engine to Bell housing Bolts V8 Classic
Hi guys, just a couple of quick questions.
I'm fitting my newly aquired 3.9 to an engine stand. Just wondering what bolts I need for the engine to bell housing, so I can rip around to a nut and bolt shop.
Also I noticed that there are quite a few welch plugs at the back. They look alright but thinking I should change them whilst it's out. Just worried that when I bolt everything back up it might leak and then I'd be stuffed. Should I bother, do they ever fail on these engines? which ones should I get?
cheers
Steve

Your bolts will be 3/8 inch UNC. I usually don't touch welch plugs that are showing no signs of leakage. That's because the alloy block corrodes so fast that you would see obvious signs of corrosion elsewhere (eg inside timing cover) before the plugs needed doing.
