    Smile K & N air filter

    just wondering if a K & N air filter is a good option on a disco V8 have used before on road cars and happy with quality, performance etc. Any feedback welcome. By the way local price was over $140, US landed was over $75, UK landed was $62 so the poms get my dollars

    not if you like your engine...particularly if you take it off bitumen.

    so what is the issue do they clog up to fast offroad?

    do the safari snorkel come with some sort of pre filter if i decide to stay with the OE type filter?

    K&N filters are more bird catcher than filters.

    they let more dust through than fozzy leaks oil to the ground.

    thanks for the link, saved me buying one of those K&N filters in the future.
    So I guess the standard filter on my RRC 93 is still a good option

    Unifilter sell 2 types of prefilter.
    The first just covers the opening and I think would be quite restrictive.

    The second and the one I have is a 'sock' that fits inside the top of the neck. They come in packs of 4, and I used them on a trip to GRR via plenty and Tanami. Following a road train along dirt they must be cleaned /swapped every couple of days. At the end of 18kk with about 8KK dirt, my main OE filter was still clean.

    Don't forget the good old cyclonic pre cleaner for a snorkel.
