    TD5 running rough

Okay guys open to your feedback and wisdoms here...

Last weekend I put in new engine mounts and since then the car has been running rough from idle right up through the rev range... definitely the shake before the bake...

It feels like the motor is misfiring... here are things I have looked at...

    1) were the new mounts shot?.... jacked the motor up a bit and motor still vibrating. Mounts seem ok....
    2) transmssion mounts are good.
    3) replaced injector loom
    4) checked ecu connectors no oil
    5) cleaned crank sensor
    6) Nanocom only show error that that I have egr blanked.
    7) With motor running Nanocom shows balance readings mostly within the -4 to +4 range except under accelaration.
    8) can rev comfortably up to 3000 rpm with vibration constant throughout. Power doesn't seem to be affected to much.... to busy rattling the teeth to tell.
    9) this vibation is felt up through the floor, steering wheel and dash no matter if driving or in neutral gear and neutral h/l transfer.
    10) exhaust is clean and doesn't smell of diesel.
    11) Nanocom can test OK each injector and fuel pump.
    12) fuel filters where replaced about 30+k ago.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated...

    Cheers....

autos dont have the dual mass flywheel...

is the vibration RPM related at all or is it a harmonic type vibration thats there and is about the same regardless of engine speed?

    Dave,

Yep,,was aware the auto don't have "flywheels" but have a plate instead...

Just looked at RAVE and understand why you refered to it as dual mass throwing a balance out but also not in an auto.

The vibration is directly related to RPM...... higher RPM ...faster shake.

    Maybe the exhuast flex joint?
Thinking maybe the exhuast has moved and may be touching since the mounts were changed.

Kyle, been through what I beleive to be everything to see if someting has moved so that it touching a body panel or chassis somewhere to pass through the vibrations.

Had checked the exhaust and all clear....

Checked around the engine, auto and transfer boxes and can't find anything out of the ordinary....

Just gotta suss out what and how as this has only kicked in post engine mount replacement.

Here's a thought and I don't know if it makes any difference...

The engine mounts have a centre hole in the bottom and a 2nd one off set.

I have both these offset hole to the front.... pretty sure that how the originals were.... Any thoughts....

Also the vibration is definitely more noticable on the passangers side up through the feet.

Had SWMBO on throttle whilst I was under the vehicle with ametal bar.. had could feel the vibration through that side chassis but seemed more pronounced in the car....

Im going to ask a stupid question....

Is the car still up on jack stands? or is this vibration there when you road test it?
