hey all,

what are the differences between an mid 70's - early 80's RangeRover chassis compared to a mid 90's to early 2000's defender 110 chassis?

things I already know/not that important: Obviously the body outriggers will be different and engine/gearbox mounts.The main mid section of the 110 is deeper than the RR. what Im wondering is does one have more "up sweep" over the front axle(ie more up travel) ? is one a stronger design/thicker construction? is there a difference in panhard/steering set up that has an advantage over the other?. better steering box? better bracing/cross members?

Mostly interested in the midsection - forward to front end.

Generally speaking, the relative geometry is the same, that's why all front end components are relatively interchangeable

More depth says the front steering arm i different, yet interchangeable, bush sizes vary on differing years, steering box is the same, 110 i stronger as its deeper in the midsection, differences in swivels hubs, wheel hubs, etc, etc...

Engine gearbag mounts are the same in V8, dieseasals are different

110 will interchange on any year, that's why my 84 has a 2002 chassis, but I had to change engine mounts

Front of 110 chassis differs a little, but that's forward of the forward most crossmember
