    crank angle sensor

    disco 4ltr v8 2003 will a faulty crank angle sensor stop power going to the fuel pump,i have differing opinions on this

    No then yes... the pump wont runn unless it nose the engine is terning over... and the cam sensor dosent tell speed just cam pos... but when you tern the key to pos2 the pump should run for a few secs..

    by turning over do you mean engine running os just on the starter motor.

    been thru this just a few weeks ago on a car, the crank sensor is the only thing that tells the ecu the engine it terning over, so if there is no signel from the CPS the ecu thinks the engines not spining so no fuel and no spark,,, wats teh probem you have

    no spark and no power to fuel pump,engine immobolizer is okay,disco is somewere between mt isa and darwin on a truck.just triying to get a handle on what i may need given the time it takes to get parts to darwin.

    yer probs a dead cps,,, do you no if theres power when u tern the ING on,,, it shoudl power for a few secs
