    Tyres

Looking at putting a new set of tyres on the P38 it has springs is 2" lifted told by the local tyre guy that i can fit 285 / 65/ 16 on the present rim. I am interested to see if any one has done the same they are Yokahamas look great mud /road combo. Any help would be appreciated.

Something went wrong with the last post.

I was looking for advice regarding tyres for the P38 Rangie new tyres i am led to believe i can fit 285/65/16 tyres on the standard rims. I have it on springs with a 2" lift the tyres are Khumo Mud /Road.

sound quite wide, but might be just on the limit for that size tyre

Be careful with tyre sizing and gear ratios, I'm not sure with P38 but it might throw your standard gearing out too much. What terrain are you mainly driving? BFG MT KM2's are great both on and off road but pricey, Maxxis Bighorn MT's are a great cheaper alternative, if you don't care so much for road noise etc then federal couragia MT's are a great mud/rock tyre at a good price.

    Perhaps 265 then?

Thanks for the thoughts guys i am not sure how they would go maybe i would be better with the 265 then. The Khumo look a great tyre for the bush the tyre rep was pretty clear as to the uses. He was saying they were good for off road but still ok on the black top and 60,000kms without a problem. Minimum noise was also mentioned. All part of the planning Bull bar ,rear bar and RAI (Snorkel ) is all needed.
