    Disco 1 spacers

not sure if im posting in the right place? sorry if im not...

i was looking at fitting 265x75x16 muddies to my standard 16 x 7 rims, ive already got a 2" spring lift and im cutting the guards soon but i was just concerned about the rims offset, but then i saw 30mm spacers on ebay
and wondered if they would work?

has anyone used them? or know if i even need to?

if they are 30mm wheel spacers they are illegal for road use in all states an cannot get them engineerd and will void your insurance if your concerned about rubbing on full lock you can adjust your steering stops thats what i did im running 33x12.5x15 on a 15x8 rim with a neg 25 offset and no rubbing

You wont need spacers for that size, i run 265/75/16's on stock steels and apart from the occasional radius arm rub at full lock they fit fine.

the spacers were 30mm and im glad i dont need them cause they were like $250.

but being standard rims your tyres wouldnt stick out at all really would they?
i'd like my wheels to stick out at least to my flares abit.

we'll see how i go, might get off set rims?

    thanks for the info guys!

Just remember one advantage about offset rims is wider wheel track which gives you more stability which can only be a good thing

yeah thats what i was thinking. plus it looks better having the fill the wheel arches.
i found a place that sells offset rims for a fair price so i might give them a look.
i can fit 15" rims over my breaks cant i? someone told me 16" is the minimum but i didn't believe them.

I am running 15 inch rims on my 99 disco 1 and they fit over the brakes no worries

Wider track means tyres will definately hit the guard lip and only a big cut and flares will help, 265's on stock offset rims (or equivalent in 15" ) is pretty much the max size before major cutting is required.
