    EAS airbag comparisons

For those who are in the know on EAS airbags for a RR Classic, who can tell me the differences in the after market bags.
What i am after is more lift, and the only info i can find is either on oem bags, Arnotts gen3 bags, or airbag man bags.
The arnotts looks to be the easiest option, but have heard the top of the bag is retained, so this might make changing the bellow over if damaged a no go.(if you can get bellows seperatly)
Couldn't find any info on firestone either.
Not really blown away by Airbagmans set up as well.

    Any help greatly appreciated

I've got the Arnotts bags on mine, and yes, the fronts are 'retained'. But if you do in a bag, you've been very very unlucky or doing something you should'nt have been...

Best local price etc would be Hard Range Australia | Range Rover and other Land Rover Parts, http://hardrange.com [ABN 21 141 975 493] who is clearing them out. Indeed cheaper & more convenient than importing them yourself. :-)

Knowing what I know now... I would never ever EVER repair my EAS, simply replace with curly bits of steel, 'cos you also will be looking at overhauling your pump.... and valve set.
    - Then there are the height sensors which eventually will need the odd replacement....

If you *need* load - levelling, I'd put those blue Polyair bags into the rear springs, and pump up via the service station or a tiny on-board compressor.

The ride on the road will also be better....

yeah james, its more a matter of IF i do a bag, how hard is going to be to replace the bellow.
having seen and repaired rovercares airbagman ones that have popped off due to misalignment, its an easy job as the bellow can come completely off.
But what about others? Heard alot of good about Arnotts, but have also heard some bad. I like the way the piston works giving a firmer ride when lowered.
But if i can't repair it in the bush, whats the point.

Oh and where's the fun in coils

Damien, I suppose its a matter of me being Ancient of Days, when "surprises" are not good for the health or ever-dwindling bank balance!

All of my current woes are the direct result of driving an '88 Rangie, towing a 1 tonne sweeper for a year or so. The ride was sheer bliss, compared to my 89 leaf-sprung Pajero. But I could barely see the dashboard at night, never mind read it (do a fair bit of night driving), and so lusted after a "soft-dash"
    - Short story, got one, got ripped off, but still like it, disappointed in the air-suspension ride, thought an improved bag would help....bought the Arnotts, and no real improvement worth getting excited over.... spent megabucks on the air pump and valve body and a 'EAS Kicker'. All works great, but can't use it 'cos the vicious coupling has bitten me !!!

You could take the cheaper way out, and just buy some spare bags for your LR suspension, around $90 each from memory. Easy to store somewhere in the car....

The fun in coils ? - lots of it, nicer ride, cheeeeeeeper to maintain and don't break down. Trust me, driving home with SWMBO & offspring, on the bump stops is not fun... Nothing can take the chill out of THAT atmosphere!

    James the Luddite.

someone must make a good eas system, obviously rovers is a bit ordinary. May'be i'll wait and see how Matts system pans out.

I can always stick coils in for now and swap it back later. But all i'm trying to do at the moment is find info on different bags/systems.
