Blknight, I wouldn't worry about tension sequence if you only have the one nut to put on especially the last one, it would be the last one in the tightening sequence anyway.

Just changed that SECRET hose as well. Only when I took the heat shield off the turbo did I notice how much the oil cooler spigot had been leaking pink OAT. That engine has had Green Glycol in it since I bought it 12 months ago, but there was no sign of green only pink scale. Maybe Green dont leak as much???, Plenty of corrosion on the alu spigot though and all pink. Did the old bike chain cleanup and sealant trick again with the new hose, and no probs.

if you haven't bought that torque wrench yet Supercheap Auto have a few on sale until June 13th.

1/4 and 1/2" drive both on sale. IIRC one was approx 49 and the other approx 60$.

They can't be taken out of the packet to inspect without damaging the packet but they just 'look' a bit too cheap and nasty IMHO.

For the extra 20 or so dollars you can get a basic Kinchrome one based on what I've been seeing of late.

I think for the Disco we need one that can cover the range of 5-60Nm ?

10-60nm and 30-170nm.

It's time to reinvigorate this thread.

I'm having a bit of drama trying to get this "not-so-secret-hose-because-I-changed-it-and-it-still-bl*^dy-leaks-so-I-know-where-the-ba&#ard-is" to stop leaking.

I have searched my browser history for a page that I visited (well, I don't think it was a dream) which showed how someone had tapped the oil cooler side spigot with some sort of threaded pipe to give a new surface to mount the hose onto.

I put a replacement hose onto it after cleaning up the corrosion that was there as best as I thought I could, and now it doesn't seem to matter how tight I do up the hose clamp it still seeps coolant after every trip.

Has anyone seen a tutorial in their web travelling on how you could effect a repair to corrosion of this spigot - without replacing the oil cooler?

Cheers for any advice.
