Should this be loose? R380
Pulled the gearbox on the weekend. Upon inspection I found this little grub screw loose
Out of interest what does it do?
Out of curiosity I unscrewed and began pulling it out, then I saw the shaft on the end of it and put it back and and screwed it up.
Will I be right to put a drop of sealant on the thread and wind it back in tight?

Hi Jock,
The screw I think holds in the pin that the little gate flap pivots on. I think if you remove it the pin could be pulled out and drop the flap into the box so be slightly careful.
I would put it back in. If you want to be certain take off the top lever assembly with the 4 bolts.
Have it in neutral when you do it as its easier to refit then.
If you want to see what they look like inside, and how to mostly rebuild one, the last few pages of my 90 thread has a lot of internal pics after I grenaded mine!

Good luck
Rgds
