no hair left to pull out,,,help please
Hi guys
after a recent major job on the disco a tee in the reservoir return line failed, it overheated and needed a new head gasket so back down the coast it went for the repairers to check it out as the job was only 1000kms old
I travelled down to pick the car up early last week and by the time I got back to Rocky there was a loud noise coming from the top of the motor with air being pushed out the air filter
I rang the repairer after pulling over at a local workshop they told the mechanic what the problem was and he did as they told him (it was a wear cap on top of a valve) he had to adjust the rocker
the car was running fine now so we headed to Airlie for Easter where on arrival the car was making the same noises again
being Easter Friday and no way to contact anybody I lifted the rocker cover off and found that the rocker shaft nuts were all finger tight/loose so I nipped them up slightly and then found that all the rockers had no play at all
Racq came down and had a look they said that it had to be all reset and that they could not do it till Wednesday
So does anyone know of a mechanic in Airlie/Cannonvale that would do the rockers for cash urgently
one local guy let me down said he would help me yesterday and when I tried to contact him at the time he told me to his phone was off and for the rest of the day
failing that can anyone get hold of Andrew from British Offroad Forrest Glen and give him my mobile number 0409770553 please
as the heading said I have very little hair left to pull out because I have a boat and family here and can not find a hire car available with a towbar Wife and the rest of the crew has to be back in Yeppoon for work on Wednesday
Thanks very much guys
Cheers
