What vehicle, and what conversion?
John
Hello all. Since I replaced my clutch with a larger and correct size one I have had a issue. The thrust bearing rattles. A lot.Due to it being a conversion there was a difference in length with the slave cylinder rod. It was a bit short. This has given me some adjustment. From what I can gather the thrust or throw out bearing should be always in contact with the clutch diaphragm? There seems to be nothing to move the thrust bearing away from the clutch diaphragm. Have made it so the thrust bearing is in contact with the clutch diaphragm and it still rattles. Sooo any thoughts, tips, offer of a box of matches ?

It`s a Isuzu 4bb1 and a ranger rover 4spd. In a hybrid, ranger rover chassis and a shortened series three ute body.

Did you put a new thrust bearing in when you done the clutch?, Regards Frank.
As rovercare says the isuzu clutch rattle is normal. So much so that the clutch fork pivot post (inside the bellhousing) has been known to come loose and flog out the hole that it sits in. Remedy is to loctite it and either crossdrill and use a roll pin to secure or modify the post, drill the hole right through the seat and secure with a nut behind. It also helps if you up the idle speed a little. Saves the rest of the vehicle rattling loose as well!![]()
