Like you said, that's not yours. ;) What can your one do?
Randy's Isuzu in the US was putting out an estimated 500hp. Over 5 times the factory fuel levels, revving to around 5000rpm and boost getting towards triple figures. The trouble becomes finding a driveline that will handle it.
But that's not mine either. I'd have to lose the bonnet to fit his turbos in. My Isuzu doesn't even have an intercooler.
0-100 isn't a good way to test a 4wd, but it's one of the easiest comparisons to make.
Sorry to hear about the collar bone. It's a nasty recurring problem for several of my friends.
As far as I know Randy has no internal work on his Isuzu. I think he's running head-studs, stiffer valve springs and that's about it, there was talk of porting but I don't know if it happened. I'm not sure where he's at with it right now, I have an intake manifold to send him, the original Isuzu of his was going in his Wife's jeep with a single single and there was a supercharged and turbocharged engine being built to go on a new AWD chassis (similar I guess to the holden crewman) with his old school ford body on top.
He's a busy man and very talented.
I'm keen to find out what your 90 will do with those mods. I'd like to get a TD5 110 as a work wagon at some stage.
Hey Benny - when do you plan to have it finished by???
I am up for a challenge - after I fit my intercooler...
As long as you add enough bricks to the back of your 90 so it weighs the same as my 110 ;).
Dougal, I think John is still off the air after his move to QLD.
Well theres a few people running mod'd TD5's and Isuzu's but is there anyone running mod'd Puma's? i would really like to see what can be done with one as i am in the market for a 130 puma and i really dont like there lack of balls.
Maybe i should enter my LS1 rover into this "internet race" after a few quick spins up and down the lane i know its quick, and i have just flashed a new tune to it to suit the cam so it should be alot happier now....
One of those tractor-pull sleds would be a great way to settle some of these disputes...
I'll back John's Isuzu tt... ;)
tractor pulls arent the be all and end all when it comes to power...
if no-one does a full pull then it comes to distance covered.
if it comes to more than one full pull then time counts.
providing no-one else made a full pull you could win it with 1HP if you had enough weight and traction.
