V6 2.5l Autobox Problems
My 2001 freelander (with 134km on the clock) started to develop a clunking noise when going through the gears and when taking off from a stationary position.
This coincided with small amounts of oil leaking from the sump area on a daily basis. The leak continued for a few weeks and the other day, I went out to the garage and there was no leak. So, I thought to myself, "must get that fixed" !
Anyway, took it for a drive yesterday and it gives me near-on whiplash during gear changes now. It is undriveable.
I have check visually under the car and have a strong feeling that it is out of transmission oil.
Can anyone tell me where the filler plug is cause, there is no dipstick !
Also, have I created any long term damage to the box ?

Wow! considering the repair costs of those AFAIK JATCO boxes, all I can say is you must be very wealthy.Take it to an auto transmission specialist NOW.
