Has the warning light come on since you topped it up?
Have a hard look below that 'P' gasket. Also losing a small amount of coolant too, Don't know where from.
False alarms, do niggle me.It's been awhile since anything's gone wrong so having the warning lights and alarms go off is reassuring. I was beginning to wonder if I had some kind of unlemon. I like to have something on the car to spend money on before a long camping trip, stops me worrying.
If it was mine I would be chasing down the reason for those triggers.
Double check the terminals in the reservoir cap, they may be need a tighten up and trace the wiring loom back to the first earthing point you come across and clean all the joints.Ive got a brake warning light. It was flickering going round corners but the fluid level seems fine (up to the seam). Just drove it and this time it came on in a slow stop, it went on and off with the brakes.
I've read the thread from 2008 that Dave Blackknight provided a good answer for but the photos he used were of a TD5. Someone on that thread cited the three places in the brake system the switches wereSee how you go with the tidy up firstShall I just give the connections around the reservoir a clean up and see what happens or should I call in a Defender Doctor?
Not being there I can only guess that the earthing points need that tidy up and somehow that is causing the coolant alarm to trigger as well.Oh, and this is a really stupid question. I have a low coolant alarm and it beeped as the brake light went on. My coolant level is fine too. This IS two issues, right? I mean this is no beeping alarm on the brake warning system??
