The sensor on the intake that gets gunged up,brake cleaner is used.I use one made by Permatex.
Dick Smith's sell it as should all similar type shops, Regards Frank.
I always use CRC Contact Cleaner on anything electrical or electronic I service.
Stocked at any electrical wholesaler, most car parts shops, industrial suppliers, bearing services, etc.
Absolutely no residue.
There is a spray pack marketed specifically for cleaning MAF sensors - possibly very similar to the contact cleaner referred to above.
