    fuel pump

    can i put in an inline fuel pump on my 3.9 d1 without taking the standard fuel pump out if so what psi do i need for the efi or is there a cheaper option to the standard fuel pump as i dont have the $400 they want for the fuel pump

    Go to your local supercrap, burson's etc and buy an in-tank pump kit for a VN-on Commodore, Bosch part number BFP772 (under $100). Then graft the pump into the Disco housing. The wire connectors will need crimp joiners, and the Disco pressure hose and clip will need to be got off. The pump is physically the same size. Everything is accessible by lifting a plate under the rear load area carpet.

    thanks i was trying to get away without dropping the tank as i have gas tanks in the back but i think i mite just have to suck it up and do it

    Unbolt the gas tank, tilt it up until you can get at the hatch. To drop the petrol tank you need access to the top anyway to undo the pipes. Running an inline pump is a no-no as it would be sucking through the old pump, its check valve and the sock filter, which is probably stuffed. Grit yer teeth and do it properly!
