When rolling to a stop in my series 3 landy there is a clunking noise that comes from somewhere in the gearbox. The noise can only be heard when going slow and rolling to a stop with clutch depressed (not sure about with clutch out). The gearbox is not the best as it had seen a bit of salt water due to a previous owner using the vehicle to reguarly launch his fishing boat. I pulled the box out of another vehicle, changed the oil and put it in my vehicle on a tempory basis, eight years ago whilst I refurbished mine. The box works well, doesn't jump out of gear, but has this annoying clunk, clunk, clunk. I am intending to pull it out soon but the clunk has me tossed and I thought someone may be able to throw some light on it!
Any ideas??????
