Yesterday fixed the stripped wing nut on the aircleaner cover of the County. Drilled out the wing nut, turned up a press fit sleeve out of a brass pipe fitting, and tapped it.

Is there no end to it?? Tonight on my way home from a rare night out, the clutch failed on the Bush Pig. So i drove it to the nearest servo and bought a bottle of brake fluid $12.00. Of course ive got a couple bottles at home. So i refilled the master cyl. I had no tools. So i pumped the crap out of the pedal and got a clutch back thankfully. Ive gotten home now and im really wondering if this perentie is cursed or what? Ive not had this trouble with my s3. I think tomorrow ill remove the slave cyl and give it a hone and see if i can get a new bucket for it. Ahh crap its a bloody holiday tomorrow. The day we stole this land from its real owners or something like that. Hmmm. Im wondering if ill ever have to stop spending money on this thing. Bugger.

Made a bit of headway simplifying things prior to installing a 4BD1T.....anything that is redundant or has 'Lucas' is getting paired out.

Central locking & key fob controller, fog lamps controller, dim dip switches etc...and few thousand metres of wiring that supported the Td5.

I want everything simple, neatly laid out and accessible without dismantling half the interior.

Was wandering around out front today and gentleman driving a Prado stopped and asked if i was the land rover man here. Well there is a few in my driveway and one on the street. I said yes. He said he has a box full of old land rover parts at home. Did i want them. I said yes please. I said i had to go out so i told him put them on the s3 stage one tray. How much do u want for them? He said he'd be glad to be rid of them. Well i got back a bit later and there was a box of mainly s3 parts. Some brand new some just barely used and some well used. I am really happy with what i got. Id have liked to have given him something for them. Would easily be a few $$ worth of stuff. At least more than $100. Nice man. Good score. Thank you who ever you were.

Just having a look through the box and theres some strange things there. Looks like some s3 6cyl ffr stuff. Strange silver coated distributor cap, New. Some strange points and a rotor button.

And 2 bracket things that look like they fit between the engine and exhaust manifolds with what looks like air injection pipes in them??
    Ill take a quick pic.

    Are they even land rover??

"A pair of fanbelts for 100 amp generator" on the tag?

Some good stuff in the box...

Not all jobs are enjoyable during a rebuild but laying Dynamat is deeply, deeply satisfying for some reason.

Roger that...this is just the start.

    Acoustic and thermal insulation everywhere.
