Definatly use antiseize, on the studs and the nuts. I'd run the studs in, till they're bottemed out, then just nip them up.
Can the experienced please help.
I'm going to fix a whistling exhaust manifold on my Td5. What is the procedure for the studs - do they need to be torqued to a particular figure and what is that? RAVE doesn't help other than 25nm for the nuts on the studs. Can anti-sieze compound be used to assist in the inevitable next fix. Thanks.

hey mate if you want to avoid doing the job again in the future then get the manifold face machined (it'll probably be warped). also remove the webbing between the ports with a angle grinder & a hammer, that will make the manifold a bit more flexible.
thanks for the advice. this is the third manifold fix but I'm going to do it myself this time...
will do the webbing and oversize the outer stud holes and hopefully will be all good this time
