    D2 04 TD5 Cooling Fan Stuck on

Got a prublem with a mates D2 04 TD5 ,in that the cooling fan comes on as soon as the engine is started and stays on until engine turned off. Doesnt matter what temp the engine is at , stone cold or hot same thing.
Seeing the "cooling Fan" has nothing to do with the Air-con and is only run from a signal from the temp sensor , the temp sensor tested out okay with the right resistances at the right temps .Pulled the R4 relay and swapped it for a good one , no change , Maybe because the ECM recieves the signal from the temp sensor and then just switches Earth to energise relay , the earth wire could be down to ground .? anyone experienced this ? Also, the temp sensor also appears to run the in dash Temp guage which is working fime , I wonder if I have got the right temp sensor ? Its the one near the top radiator hose , is there any other ?

Oil in the injector harness, "cooling fan" are we talking Viscous fan behind the radiator, if you are then it will be the oil in the harness.

Also the viscous fan comes on if you have the aircon on, turn the AC to eco or off and if it stops then that's all it will be, if however it still runs, then it will be oil in the harness.

Sometimes after an airflow or coolant temp circuit fault the ECU leaves the fan running. Clearing codes should stop it.
