can anyone tell me if the cross drilled input gear from suffix C on LT230's will fit in a suffix B LT230. From eye, the only real difference i can see is the PTO drive gear on the end and the teeth on the input gear are wider.

different pressure angles on the teeth![]()
Yes I think landRover changed the tooth form a few times over the years in an effort to make the transfercase quieter.I saw a gearset amongst a pile of bits at a swap meet with teeth so fine that I reckon I could easily break one off with a pair of pliers.
If you can buy a replacement suffix B gear it is possible to carefully cross drill it yourself with a carbide drill bit.
Wagoo.
was nothing wrong with the gear in mine, i just wanted a crossed drilled one, so after ordering the wrong one, i had a go at cross drilling mine. After finding the correct drill bit to use in the shed, i gave it a go, took 20mins and it now has 4x8mm holes in it![]()
