New TD5 injector but no ECU info

From what I understood about the TD5, the ECU must be told when installing a new injector, and new injector settings programmed into the ECU accordingly. Two problems I think:
    1) my newly delivered Delphi (UK) built injector MSC000030 has no serialised data associated with it as far as I can see - no paperwork; and
    2) here in Canberra no one has either seen or volunteered the use of a Nancom since requested about a month ago.

Has anyone else put in a new injector and can advise me whether the programming is necessary - i.e. do I need to get back to my parts supplier?

And can anyone help if necessary and a nancom can do the job please?

    Thanks,

    Canblogerra.

NB - the injector is not installed yet.

Has anyone else put in a new injector and can advise me whether the programming is necessary yes, it may run a little better if trim codes are entered and no, you may not notice any difference. For optimal performance it should be done - i.e. do I need to get back to my parts supplier?

And can anyone help if necessary and a nancom can do the job please?

Install it, record the code on the coil and when you find some one with a nanocom, have the trim code entered.

    Thanks Rick,

I haven't actually opened the sealed bag protecting the injector yet, but I assume from what you are saying that there should be some "coil" numbers there. Sounds good.

I will be seeing someone with a Nancom this evening (all going well). Won't have the injector installed but might be able to enter the codes at some later date.

    Thanks,

    Canblogerra.

You really want to enter the injector when you install it. Under or over fuelling can do more harm than good. Replace the injector sealing washer when you replace the injector, too.

The code is on the coil of the injector. It's an easy install and simple nanocom operation.

    Good luck.
