    Intermittent winch ?

G,day, I have just fitted my new winch bullbar and fitted my old winch.

I have a wireless remote, to controll the winch which works fine every time i press in and out. But occsaionaly the winch wont turn. I can hear the solinoids clicking when i press the buttons but sometimes no movement. I guess i have a loose connection someware but i have checked everything twice.

I have just noticed now that it is late, that there is some sparking when the winch cable touches the fairleed rollers??????? What does this mean or is this normal?. Could the winch be shorting internally???

    Cheers
    Will.

How's the earth lead - sparking at the fairlead sounds like the earth return cable ( usually bolted to the case of the motor) isn't right. If the motor was shorting, you'd smell it.

    X2

Is the earth lead from the winch getting good contact at both the winch and battery?
    Cheers, Kyle
