    82 to 92 rrc compatibility

    Hi all,
I am looking at swaping over the good stuff from my 2 door into a 92 4 door. The 82 has laminated housings with maxi lockers, 60665 c.v's and maxi drive flanges.
I am assuming the front and rear will be a direct swap apart from the ABS, can this still be made operational?
I also want to do something with the front c.v's as although I don't break c.v's I break drive flange stubs all too easily.

The internals should be ok- I dont know about the ABS though. I have no idea where they get their signal from (never pulled one apart).

Does your 82 have shocks on either side of the axle housing, or are they on the same side? My 82 has stock axles and the shocks are opposing.. I was looking on later model rangies and they had them on the same side. thats the only issue I could see?

The rear housing is a later model with both shocks facing forward.

    In that case
I would just swap over the whole axles. Saves time and alot of works with the internals

I would be swapping over the whole housing , I just don't know how to keep the ABS.
My 82 ran out of registration and the list to get it back is just too long, too many mods and ten years of hard use and a few winch comps have taken their toll.
I will build a new off roader just not sure at this stage what.
    To work with I have a 65 11a ex army workshop, 82 2 door rrc and a 92 rrc.
The 92 would be comfortable and probably the easiest but has lots of 19 year old complex electrics.
The 11a would be a great off roader on coils and nice and simple, or I have been thinking of a 110 cab chassis for a while.
